User Interaction and Adaptive Methods in Information Retrieval

Programme | Abstracts

After a preliminary meeting in Nijmegen and a first workshop in Maastricht in September 2000 (results can be found here), the second Dutch Information Retrieval workshop will take place on 18 January 2001 at the University of Twente (Room Hal B, L200 of the Informatica/Collegezalen building). The workshop will focus on the increasingly important role of approaches to information retrieval that actively engage in the interaction with the user and/or systems that actively change their parameters on-line. The workshop addresses the role of user interaction and adaptive methods both in terms of existing approaches and implementations, in terms of theoretical foundations, or emerging directions of research. Keynote speaker at the workshop is:

  • Stephen Robertson (Microsoft Research / City University, London)
