Function:PhD Student

I am a PhD candidate at the Human Media Interaction group of the University of Twente, currently working on investigating the development of child-robot relationships in educational settings. In the context of the EASEL project I am looking into long-term symbiotic interactions between a social robot and a child, where the robot and child must work together in an inquiry based learning task.

I have a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and a Master’s degree in Human Media Interaction. During my studies I have gained several years of part-time experience working as a software (web-)developer. In my Master’s programme I focused primarily on user centred design, machine learning and knowledge representation. For my thesis I built an extensible semantic Wiki-based workflow management system for laboratory researchers, aimed at supplementing and partially replacing their paper-based lab notebooks.
