ProfileMy name is Hendri Hondorp, born on August 25, 1962 in Dinxperlo (a little village near the German border). After MAVO-4 and HAVO I went to the HIO (Hoger Informatica Opleiding) in Enschede, which is now part of Saxion Hogeschool. This education is famous for the Unix knowledge: students become experts in Operating Systems, the language C and ICT. I have a great interest in science, especially for opportunities between Human and Media/Computer/Machine, in short: interaction with Technology. I like to think, read and talk about the way technology has effect on human evolution (think about the industrial revolution, and the electronic revolution started a few years ago) I love to assist HMI people in a variety of ways (practically and theoretically). I love the freedom I have in my support function, which is very important for me. HMI members can come to me to ask questions, get help: · I’m an expert in LATEX, MySQL, Linux, web-servers (LAMP = Linux, Apache, MySQL and PHP) en web-services. · for building showcases, demonstrations; · organizing conferences, preparing Proceedings, organizing the review process of a conference (technical part), creating websites for conferences inclusing the fee and registration part of it in collaboration with our HMI-secretaries Charlotte and Alice. · I order new hardware for HMI. After a while it will arrive at my office. That’s why I am able to have a first technical look at this hardware. What are the possibilities, who can be more interested in this piece of hardware, do we need more software or specifications? At this moment one of my job’s is to create a new HMI website. To use the UT web-style, the way people put there information on web pages with Webhare (a "(not real) CMS" program bought by the university), but also to show people what HMI means with computer user interaction is a task which asks for patience, creativity and slyness to prepare a new website which gives a good picture of HMI as research-group, in education, it’s master and research. |
