Jamy Li is an Assistant Professor in the Human-Media Interaction group at the University of Twente. His research interests include social science applied to the design of social robots, autonomous vehicles and communication media as well as the use of technology to support the study of social systems. The goals of this research are to aid technology design and the understanding of social systems, based on his training in communication technology.
He completed his Bachelor degree and Master degree in engineering (Toronto) and his PhD degree in communication (Stanford). At the University of Toronto, his research focused on personality in blogging communities and gesture communication with social robots. At Stanford University, he focused on studying human interaction with robots and autonomous vehicles.
