Description: This research will take place at Logica. Logica is a leading IT service provider that creates and implements business intelligence dashboards for its customers. These BI dashboards allow the managers of these customers to have a real-time and accurate view over their organisation.
Dashboards are normally built to the exact specifications of a client. Once the client is satisfied with the results, the dashboard is integrated in the client’s infrastructure. After a dashboard has been delivered to the customer it cannot be changed easily anymore. Changes (even small ones) always need to be performed by Logicaʼs consultants. To (partly) overcome this inflexibility for its customers, Logicaʼs division of Industry, Distribution and Transport has come up with the idea of adding to these dashboards a more advanced and flexible form of user interface.
It is hoped that by incorporating adaptive user interfaces into the produced dashboards, the system may become more user aware. This could possibly reduce or abolish the need for small changes to occur. In order to establish a user aware personalised dashboard, useful determinants for the detection of the personality of the operator are required. The research proposed here intends to investigate the possibility to include determinants for personality types in a software application. The goal for this internship is to establish an idea about the extent to which personality type indicators can be applied to a personalised, user aware, system.
