May 31, 2005 Project Description: The WATERLAND project aims to gather the scientific knowledge
necessary for the development of:
- a flexible, stable, generic open architecture for fully digital
A/V production to realise effective and efficient multi-channel,
(multi-device) content distribution
- techniques and components conform the essential technical
requirements for the above-mentioned architecture
- new multimedia services (for test purposes, so, in concept)
which
would not be possible with state-of-the-art technology, i.e. without
the above-mentioned developments.
