At HMI we have a Experience/Experiment Room. This room can be used
by students and HMI members to work on several Research Topics.
The room is located at ZI-2070 Experiments, BCI, Meeting Room, Multi-Touch Table, Virtual Reality Some themes present in this work are :At this moment we have several experiments running:
Meeting Room.
 |
| We have created an UEFC-demo, which
is used
in AMIDA. |
| A Remote
Participant (RP) is participating a Meeting Remotely. Using Visual
Focus of Attention (attent the RP if someone is looking at
him/her), Automatic Speech Recognition (ASR, who is saying what: a
textual record is made of the meeting) and Keyword Spotting (attent
the RP if a keyword is mentioned in the meeting) are used to make the
remote conversation more natural and easier. |
- Multitouch Table.
 |
| We want to contribute to the design of the e-BioLab, and in
particular improve teams collaboration and interaction with multiple
public and shared displays and devices. The e-BioLab is a smart
meeting room under development at the MicroArray
Department/Integrative Bioinformatics Unit (MAB/IBU) from the UvA. We
specifically focus on teams situation awareness, workflow
visualization, and natural interaction. One of the display/interaction
devices is our multitouch table. |
|
- Brain Computer Interaction (BCI).
  |
| In the BrainGain project
experiments can be made to see and study how people (and especially
their brains) react when several tasks are done. For example when
playing a simple computer game. This knowledge can be used to create a
Brain Computer Interface. So (illness and healthy) people can be able
to control a Computer with their brains.
