This Capita Selecta research involves a study of state-of-the-art AI systems for personal life management. The study will compare different experimental systems, including the DARPA sponsored Personal Assistant that Learns (PAL) and the multi-agent architecture based SmartCAL, a calendar assistant for office meetings. Furthermore, there will be an investigation of findings in behavioral studies about the natural time scheduling techniques people use. This part will include studies about cultural differences in time management and others about the differences between professional time scheduling at the office and personal time scheduling at home.
